Job Description

We are looking for an Infrastructure Provisioning Engineer to join our team. This position is ideal for candidates with foundational knowledge of operating systems, virtualization, and infrastructure basics who are eager to grow in a modern DevOps ecosystem.

Your primary responsibilities will include support day-to-day provisioning activities, enhance automation workflows, and develop scripts to streamline routine tasks. You will gain hands-on experience with tools such as Chef and Terraform while learning and applying automation best practices to optimize provisioning processes.

This role is ideal for someone who is early in their career looking to strengthen their skills in infrastructure automation, virtualization, and cloud provisioning.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in provisioning, maintaining, and supporting infrastructure components across VMware-based environments.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to automate provisioning workflows and improve overall efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using Python, Shell, or PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Support configuration management and infrastructure automation using Chef and Terraform (basic working knowledge required).
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for provisioning or infrastructure issues.
  • Contribute to CI/CD improvements and operational best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and operational guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and reliable deployment pipelines.
  • Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and methodologies aligned with DevOps and infrastructure engineering.


Required Qualifications

  • VMware ecosystem knowledge (vCenter, ESXi basics, VM provisioning, templates, snapshots, datastores).
  • Hands-on scripting with at least one of:
    • Shell
    • Python
    • PowerShell
  • Understanding of infrastructure fundamentals: networking basics, OS concepts (Linux/Windows), storage.
  • Basic exposure to:
    • Chef (cookbooks, attributes, basic resource usage)
    • Terraform (HCL syntax, modules, providers)
  • Familiarity with code versioning using Git.
  • Ability to debug issues logically and follow structured troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Any engineering or automation project done during college or internships (e.g., cloud setup, scripting projects, automation tools, small-scale DevOps pipelines).
  • Basic understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (OCI/AWS/Azure) is a plus.
  • Interest in infrastructure automation, reliability engineering, and cloud provisioning technologies.
