Cloud Support Engineer – AWS
We’re on the lookout for a skilled Cloud Support Engineer to join a dynamic technology team. You’ll play a pivotal role in providing technical support, ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and optimisation of cloud systems while working closely with internal teams and customers.

THE ROLE:
In this role, you’ll take ownership of diagnosing and resolving cloud-related incidents, performing routine maintenance, and optimising cloud performance. This position suits someone who thrives in problem-solving, enjoys collaboration, and is eager to expand their expertise in cloud environments. The role will also participate in an after-hours on-call roster with appropriate shifts, penalty rates, and stand-down times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for AWS cloud services, assisting customers with issues and inquiries.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud-related incidents, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Manage and track support tickets using service desk tools.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks including updates, patches, and backups to ensure cloud system health.
- Monitor cloud environments proactively, identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with team members to implement best practices and improve system performance.
- Provide guidance and training to customers on AWS tools, features, and best practices.
- Ensure cloud systems adhere to security and compliance standards, conducting audits and implementing necessary controls.
- Analyse system performance and implement optimisations to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 2-3 years of experience in cloud support or similar technical roles
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting cloud environments
- Experience with service desk or ticketing systems
- Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools and practices
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Familiarity with cloud security practices and compliance requirements
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Bonus: experience with automation tools or scripting (Python, Bash)
