Position: Data Analyst – Product & Marketing (Subscription / Mobile App)

Future Golf, Australia's largest and most vibrant golf community, is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join their growing team. As the only app globally where golfers can access every aspect of the game in one place, Future Golf generates vast amounts of data that helps drive their strategic decisions and product development.


This role is perfect for someone who thrives on turning complex data into actionable insights that directly impact business growth. You'll be responsible for mining, analysing, and visualising data to support various functions across the organisation, from marketing campaign performance to course utilisation analytics and member engagement patterns.


Working in a hybrid environment with access to the premium Sandhurst Golf Club facilities, you'll collaborate with product managers, marketing teams, and leadership to identify reporting needs and deliver self-service dashboards that empower data-driven decision making across Future Golf.


Key Responsibilities:


Data Mining & Analysis:

  • Extract and analyse data from multiple sources including PostgreSQL databases, marketing platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok), and internal systems
  • Identify trends, patterns, and insights in member behavior, course utilisation, and business performance
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to support strategic initiatives and product development
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide regular reporting on business metrics


Dashboard Development & Visualisation:

  • Create interactive dashboards and self-service reporting tools using Google Sheets, Looker Studio, and other visualisation platforms
  • Build automated reporting systems that enable stakeholders to access real-time insights
  • Design user-friendly visualisations that translate complex data into clear, actionable stories
  • Develop demographic breakdowns and segmentation analysis for various business functions


Cross-Platform Data Integration:

  • Work with data from various marketing platforms including Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Integrate subscription data, course booking systems, and member engagement metrics
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across multiple data sources
  • Support data warehouse setup and optimisation initiatives


Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with product leads to identify reporting requirements and translate business needs into analytical solutions
  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership teams and department heads
  • Support marketing teams with campaign performance analysis and ROI reporting
  • Collaborate with development teams on data infrastructure improvements


Advanced Analytics (Advantageous):

  • Apply AI/ML techniques for predictive analytics and member behavior modeling
  • Contribute to backend development projects using TypeScript when required
  • Implement advanced statistical methods for customer segmentation and retention analysis
  • Support A/B testing frameworks and experimental design


Required Skills & Qualifications:


Technical Skills:

  • PostgreSQL: Proficient in SQL queries, data extraction, and database management
  • Google Sheets & Looker Studio: Advanced skills in creating dashboards, reports, and data visualisations
  • Experience working with marketing platform APIs and data exports (Meta, Google, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in data cleaning, transformation, and validation processes


Experience & Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or similar role
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field
  • Proven track record of creating self-service reporting solutions
  • Experience with subscription-based business models preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with ambiguous requirements


Advantageous Skills:

  • Development Experience: Basic coding skills, particularly TypeScript, for backend contributions
  • AI/ML Knowledge: Experience with machine learning applications in analytics and reporting
  • Data Architecture: Understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data structure optimisation
  • Marketing Analytics: Familiarity with digital marketing metrics, attribution modeling, and performance tracking
  • Golf Industry Knowledge: Understanding of golf culture and industry dynamics (not essential)
