Platfrom Developer
We’re looking for a Platform Developer to join our team! If you’re confident working across software development and platform/DevOps engineering, this is your chance to shape the future of our technology and make a real impact.
We’re in the middle of an exciting transformation: modernizing our entire platform – from software and infrastructure to deployment pipelines – while introducing AI-assisted tools into our engineering workflow. You’ll work on meaningful projects that combine innovation with practical problem-solving.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Turku or Espoo. The role is hybrid in every sense: you’ll split your work between coding and cloud/platform automation, and you’ll also enjoy a flexible hybrid work model that combines remote work with office collaboration – making it easy to balance your professional and personal life.
If this role sounds like a great fit for you, take a look below to explore the key responsibilities in more detail.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Software Development & Modernization
- Develop new features and modules for our medical data platform.
- Modernize legacy systems (Java 7, old Grails) by introducing modern frameworks and architectures.
- Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., AI code generation, refactoring assistance, automated migration analysis) to accelerate modernization.
- Improve application structure, modularity, stability, and long-term maintainability.
- Platform & Cloud Engineering (Azure + AKS)
- Maintain and improve our Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) clusters.
- Enhance observability, security, and resiliency of platform components.
- Support developers in running services reliably on our cloud platform.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Restructure and simplify our Terraform environment into a clean, maintainable architecture.
- Create reusable Terraform modules and improve state management.
- Automate provisioning for multiple hospital environments.
- Deployment Automation
- Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines.
- Ensure safe, predictable rollouts across many healthcare environments.
- Move the organization toward self-service, fully automated deployment workflows.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong experience in both backend development and DevOps/cloud engineering.
- Solid understanding of Azure and Kubernetes (preferably AKS).
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform.
- Experience modernizing older systems or migrating legacy frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools for code generation, refactoring, testing, or architecture improvement.
- Ability to simplify complex systems and own long-term technical improvements.
- Experience with Java, Grails, or legacy-to-modern migrations.
- Experience in regulated industries or healthcare.
- Knowledge of microservices, CI/CD, GitOps, or automation pipelines.
- Interest in platform engineering, internal tooling, or AI-driven development workflows.
At BCB Medical, you’ll thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where your contributions directly shape our success. You’ll have the chance to deepen your expertise in the MedTech/HealthTech industry, working with innovative products and solutions that truly make a difference – helping doctors in their daily workflows and improving patient care.
You’ll get to:
- Work on modernizing and building critical platform components that power healthcare solutions used by hospitals and clinics.
- Shape the future of our mission-critical healthcare platform.
- Collaborate in a culture that values creative thinking, open discussion, and continuous learning, where every voice matters.
- Enjoy a flexible work environment that supports a healthy work-life balance and gives you the freedom to influence your own work.
