Project Manager - Construction Consultancy Location: Dublin, Ireland Sector: Construction Consultancy Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Overview This company are a leading independent Construction Consultancy based in Dublin and they are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex capital projects across multiple sectors, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role requires a proactive approach, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to manage diverse stakeholder groups, from design teams and contractors to client executives.

Key Responsibilities Project Delivery and Management
  • Lead the planning, execution, and closure of construction projects across key sectors, including Residential, Hotels, Commercial, Logistics, and Aviation.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project execution plans, including detailed programs, procurement strategies, and risk management registers.

  • Manage the design process, ensuring timely delivery of information and adherence to client briefs and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversee tender processes, including preparation of pre-qualification documents, tender analysis, and contractor appointment.

  • Implement robust change control procedures, administering contracts (e.g., FIDIC, RIAI, JCT) effectively.

  • Conduct regular site visits and chair project meetings (design, progress, and client steering groups), providing clear, actionable minutes and reporting.

Stakeholder and Client Management
  • Act as the principal point of contact for the client, providing regular, transparent progress reports and managing expectations.

  • Effectively manage and coordinate all project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, cost consultants (QS), and specialist subcontractors.

  • Drive collaboration and communication across all parties to foster a productive and solution-oriented environment.

Financial and Risk Control
  • Work closely with Quantity Surveyors to monitor cost plans and forecasts, ensuring projects remain within agreed financial parameters.

  • Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks (technical, commercial, and financial) throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Manage the transition from construction to operation, including commissioning, handover, and final account settlement.

Required Skills and Experience Essential Qualifications
  • A relevant third-level degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Architecture.

  • Proven track record of 4+ years managing construction projects from inception to completion.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Irish planning, building regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.

Technical & Sector Expertise
  • Consultancy Experience (Preferred): Experience working within a PQS/PPM (Professional Quantity Surveying/Project Management) Consultancy environment.

  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects across at least two of the following sectors: Residential, Hotel/Leisure, Commercial Office, Logistics/Industrial, or Aviation/Infrastructure.

  • Strong contractual knowledge

  • Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Project, P6) and project management platforms.

Personal Attributes
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, necessary for complex report writing and presentations.

  • A natural leader and motivator with strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.

  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites within the greater Dublin area.
