We are seeking an exceptional .NET Developer to join our Spectre squad within a major insurance transformation program. This is not an ordinary development role: you will drive modernization of our integration layer, shape best practices, and enable us to deliver faster, safer, and more reliably. We promote a modern tech culture where engineers take full ownership from idea to production – you build it, you own it.
About The Team
You will be part of a central integration squad working at the heart of a major transformation program, migrating our Mobility (Car Insurance) portfolio to a new Guidewire-based core system.
Our integration and data platforms are built on Microsoft Azure, .NET, and Databricks, enabling modern delivery practices. You’ll work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, and product teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-quality integration solutions.
You will be joining a highly senior and experienced team where collaboration and knowledge sharing are key to our success. There is also significant room to influence both technology and ways of working, and we aim to be an inspiration for the rest of If.
We are a collaborative, agile-minded team committed to continuous learning and improvement. Your work will directly impact the success of multiple squads and products.
What are you going to do?
- Design, build, and maintain robust .NET (C#) APIs, microservices, and integration solutions on Azure for our insurance integration layer.
- Advance DevOps maturity and test automation (unit, contract, integration, E2E) to drive adoption of the test pyramid.
- Implement feature toggling strategies to support safe deployments and progressive feature rollouts.
- Enable CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and support automated quality gates.
- Collaborate with the Engineering Excellence team to create standards, onboarding guides, and code reviews.
- Ensure security, error handling, and extensibility are built into every solution
- Champion clean code, quality, and developer enablement.
- Act as an enabler - helping other developers and squads adopt best practices and raise delivery maturity.
You are a solution-oriented, quality-driven developer who enjoys working across teams and enabling others. You thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid environment and are passionate about modern engineering practices. In addition, you have:
- Strong experience in .NET (C#) development, especially for APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and integration patterns.
- Interest in AI and curiosity about how emerging technologies can be applied to improve software engineering and insurance solutions.
- Solid understanding of test automation (unit, integration, contract, E2E) and the test pyramid.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps), feature toggling, and trunk-based development.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code, monitoring, and logging.
- Comfort with Agile ways of working and continuous delivery.
- Driven to continuously develop yourself and inspire growth in those around you.
- A collaborative mindset and ability to mentor and support other developers.
- Day-to-day responsibilities require a good/excellent level of English to communicate with clients and colleagues in other countries.
- Monthly salary: €3500 - €5500 gross depending on your qualifications.
- Strong company culture: knowledge sharing, company events, interesting speakers, and other inspiring initiatives.
- Career and development opportunities (e.g. 3 dedicated up-skilling days) in the biggest insurance company in the Nordics.
- Challenging and exciting projects with autonomy to plan own tasks.
- Extra vacation days, annual bonus, great insurance benefits, discounts on our products for you and your family, gifts, etc.
- Possibility of hybrid work, where office is our primary workplace.
- A recently renovated office in Riga centre with a 24/7 gym on the premises.
- Business trips to Baltic and Nordic countries.
