Join our Baltic, cross-functional team as an experienced Data Engineer and play a key role in modernizing our client’s Core Data Solutions. You’ll design, build, and optimize data architectures and pipelines that power regulatory, operational, and analytical processes, driving innovation and excellence in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously improve systems for data ingestion, processing, storage, and sharing
- Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to support regulatory, operational, and analytical needs
- Build and optimize scalable, reliable, and high-performing data architectures
- Modernize and integrate legacy data systems into a unified, secure banking data platform
- Ensure high standards of data quality, availability, security, and performance
- Collaborate with analysts, business stakeholders, and software engineers to deliver impactful data-driven solutions
- Perform code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and resolve defects in data workflows
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for critical data processes
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a professional Data Engineer
- Proven expertise in SQL and Python; knowledge of Java is a plus
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proficiency in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong knowledge of streaming data pipelines and platforms (Kafka, Spark, Flink)
- Familiarity with data workflow tools (Apache Airflow, dbt)
- Skills in modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
- Understanding of integration patterns (real-time, event-driven, message-based), bridging legacy systems with modern environments
- Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
- Exposure to test automation and DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code and security best practices
- Strong communication skills with fluent English (spoken and written), enabling seamless collaboration across Baltic teams
Nice to have
- Experience in the banking or financial services domain
- Working knowledge of enterprise data platforms (Oracle DB, SAP IQ, SAP Data Services, SAP Business Objects) and reporting tools (Power BI)
