Why this role matters
As a Citizen Data Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and continuity of our automated machine learning forecasting process—core to effective Demand Planning across our global supply chain. By maintaining the reliability of Machine Learning (ML) models and uncovering insights that strengthen operational performance, you will directly contribute to smarter decision-making, reduced risk, and improved efficiency throughout the organization.
What You Will Do
- Monitor and troubleshoot the automated ML forecasting pipeline to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Investigate forecast deviations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain clear, up-to-date documentation for ML models, data flows, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and enhance the forecasting workflow.
- Identify opportunities to improve model reliability, scalability, and performance through automation and validation.
- Explore new datasets and existing processes to uncover insights and drive continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related field (advanced degrees a plus).
- Practical knowledge of advanced ML methods, especially time-series forecasting.
- Strong skills in Python and/or R, data wrangling, and predictive modeling.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data science, ideally within supply chain or operational environments.
- Solid experience working with SQL and relational databases.
- Ability to clearly communicate accurate insights to non-technical stakeholders; experience with Power BI is a plus.
