Scrum Master

Location: Amstelveen

Language: Dutch

Worktype: hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

The Scrum Master will work together with team members across multiple disciplines: Cloud Engineers, Automation Engineers, Security Specialists, Compliance Officers, and Platform Architects. At this moment, there is not yet an established team.

In addition, there will be close collaboration with the Private Cloud Transformation Lead, leadership, technical leads, and stakeholders in the Benelux and Nordics.

Team Phase

The teams are currently being built (phase 1 of the transformation).

The Scrum Master will therefore help form the first DevSecOps teams, including onboarding, setting up ways of working, embedding Agile rituals, and creating team dynamics.

This is not an existing Agile team; this role is part of the build-up and transformation journey itself.

Client Context

This concerns internal teams that are developing and managing a sovereign private cloud. This cloud subsequently supports external customer environments in regulated sectors (Benelux & Nordics).

The focus is on internal enablement and delivery excellence, but the impact is externally customer-facing: everything the teams do ultimately translates into customer value (uptime, compliance, speed, innovation).

The Scrum Master does not need to have a deep technical profile, but affinity with DevOps is essential in order to communicate and prioritize effectively within the teams.

Ways of Working & Responsibilities

The goal over the next 12 months is to grow our private cloud teams from early-stage Agile teams into mature, high-performing DevSecOps units that deliver on velocity, compliance, and customer value.

The Scrum Master helps by:

  • Ensuring there are clear sprint goals aligned with the transformation objectives; clearly defining what needs to be achieved per sprint.
  • Maintaining focus on the right priorities.
  • Identifying impediments and resolving them together with the Transformation Lead.
  • Driving continuous improvement based on data (velocity, lead time, team happiness, quality).
  • Agile coaching teams in ownership, collaboration, and communication.
  • Making results measurable (velocity, quality, customer value).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in IT Infrastructure environments such as Cloud and Networks (5+ years preferred).

• Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum).

• Familiarity with network automation tools and technologies (e.g., Ansible, Python).

• Experience working with network infrastructure teams and familiarity of networking concepts (routing, switching, firewalls, SDN and Cloud technologies).

• Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent).

• Experience with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools.
