Senior Java Developer

Matrix Eastern Europe, the offshore division of Matrix IT, one of the leading global R&D services companies with more than 11, 000 professionals, is looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the team of our client and partner – Wavebl!

WaveBL is an Israeli digital trade platform that digitizes international shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, using blockchain technology. It enables faster, more secure, and paperless document exchange between shippers, carriers, and banks, reducing delays, risks, and costs. Their solution streamlines global supply chains while improving transparency and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance, scalable backend services.
• Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to build innovative features that align with business needs.
• Take ownership of end-to-end feature development—from design to deployment.
• Ensure the quality and maintainability of the codebase through best practices and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in a fast-paced environment.
• Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance our platform’s capabilities.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and managing application infrastructure, including deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
• Strong understanding of Software Design, OOP, and Microservices architecture.
• Experience designing and developing large-scale, distributed systems.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Redis, Kafka, and other open-source technologies.
• Experience with testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end (E2E) testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively
• Ability to lead the development of complex components and features.
• Passion for learning new technologies and improving system performance.
• A team player with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
• Excellent communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking).
