About The Role

The Data Scientist II role at TD is a pivotal position within the Analytics, Insights, & Artificial Intelligence (AI2) team, based in Toronto, Ontario. This team provides strategic data insights and analytics solutions that support decision-making and drive business growth. The Data Scientist II will work closely with the Canadian Personal Banking (CPB) segment, leveraging advanced data analysis techniques to uncover meaningful insights, identify new opportunities, and develop predictive models that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. This role requires a seasoned professional capable of translating complex data into actionable business strategies, influencing key stakeholders, and supporting TD’s objective to innovate and lead in the digital banking space.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, or financial services analytics
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Spark
  • Experience with distributed data processing tools like Hadoop, Hive, or Impala
  • Strong understanding of data visualization and reporting tools
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex insights clearly to stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects end-to-end
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is an asset
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics is preferred
  • Knowledge of project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, and BitBucket is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Apply a deep understanding of business strategies to develop relevant data analyses that support organizational goals
  • Generate insights and recommend strategic actions to improve customer experience and operational efficiency
  • Develop and illustrate business trends through comprehensive data analysis and visualization
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable reports and dashboards for various stakeholders
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert on key data sources, curating data assets for reporting and analytics
  • Interpret analytic results and communicate findings effectively to influence decision-making
  • Bridge business requirements with technical data solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Educate and build awareness among business partners on data interpretation and analytics capabilities
  • Provide ongoing support for analytics initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and quality of insights
  • Participate in cross-functional groups or committees to share knowledge and best practices
