Enterprise Data Architect

Central Bank of Oman is seeking to Recruit Competent, Committed, Self-motivated and Enthusiastic Omani Candidate as Enterprise Data Architect.

Job Purpose:

The Data Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of data architecture strategies that ensure the effective management, integration, quality, and security of data across Central Bank of Oman. This role is critical in enabling data-driven decision-making, compliance with regulatory mandates, and advancement of analytics capabilities in alignment with the Central Bank of Oman’s strategic objectives.

Key duties and Tasks:

• Develop and maintain CBO’s enterprise data architecture framework, including data models, metadata standards, and integration patterns.
• Design and govern robust data pipelines and data stores to support analytics, regulatory reporting, and operational needs.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align data architecture with business requirements, regulatory standards, and IT strategies.
• Lead the design and implementation of data governance practices and metadata management initiatives.
• Establish and enforce data architecture standards, best practices, and policies.
• Assess current data landscape and identify opportunities to improve data quality, consistency, availability, and security.
• Support regulatory compliance by ensuring data architectures accommodate legal, ethical, and industry-specific standards.
• Provide architectural oversight and mentorship to data engineers, analysts, and developers.
• Manage relationships with external vendors or partners providing data-related tools or services.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
• 7 to10 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or information management roles.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise data solutions.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

• Master’s degree in information management, Data Analytics, or related disciplines.
• Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), DAMA.
• Experience working in a regulatory or financial services environment.
• Experience with regulatory reporting systems and understanding of financial supervisory data.
• Participation in digital transformation initiatives and large-scale data modernization projects.
• Familiarity with regulatory technologies (RegTech) or supervisory technologies (SupTech).
