As a Node.js Backend Developer, you will play a key role in building, scaling, and maintaining robust backend systems that power modern digital applications. You will work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and DevOps teams to design high-performance APIs and backend services that are secure, reliable, and scalable. This role is ideal for a backend-focused engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working in agile environments, and contributing to systems used at scale.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and modern frameworks
- Build and manage RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs to support web and mobile applications
- Integrate backend services with SQL and NoSQL databases, external APIs, and third-party systems
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best engineering practices
- Ensure application security, data protection, and compliance with relevant standards
- Optimize backend performance, reliability, and scalability under high-traffic conditions
- Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams to support containerized and cloud-based deployments
- Implement automated testing strategies including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Participate in CI/CD workflows to support continuous delivery and system stability
- Work closely with cross-functional teams in an Agile or Scrum-based development environment
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues using logging and monitoring tools
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and hands-on experience with Node.js development
- Experience working with backend frameworks and API-driven architectures
- Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven systems, and backend workflows
- Practical experience with relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling concepts
- Familiarity with REST APIs, GraphQL, caching mechanisms, and message queues
- Knowledge of version control systems and modern DevOps practices
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving abilities
- Exposure to TypeScript, microservices, or serverless architectures is an advantage
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, agile environments with distributed teams
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A strong focus on code quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability
