The Senior HR Generalist for APAC is a key member of the global People Services function, responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality HR support to employees and managers across the full employee lifecycle. Working under the direction of the Director, People Services (based in the US), this role provides hands-on HR advisory, case management, and operational delivery — ensuring that Convera’s People processes are executed effectively, compliantly, and with empathy.
This role is based in Sydney (hybrid role, split between modern CBD office with water & city views & WFH) and provides support to employees and managers across the APAC region, including Australia, India, Singapore, New Zealand, Japan, and Hong Kong.
Duties And Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Case Management:
- Serve as the primary HR contact for employees and people managers within assigned region.
- Provide balanced, compliant, and empathetic HR advice on employee relations (ER), performance management, and policy interpretation.
- Act as a trusted consultant in ER and performance cases — guiding managers through issue diagnosis, documentation, and resolution.
- Manage ER cases end-to-end, from when a concern is raised, to conducting an effective investigation, and delivering recommendations, including disciplinary action.
- Deliver operational excellence across onboarding, mobility, promotions, performance, and offboarding processes.
- Partner with HR Tech, Payroll, Benefits, and other COEs to ensure seamless execution of employee transactions and changes.
- Identify recurring issues or inefficiencies and suggest improvements to streamline workflows and enhance employee experience.
- Ensure all HR activities and decisions comply with relevant labor laws, internal policies, and audit requirements.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and data integrity across all employee records and systems.
- Deliver HR services with empathy and clarity, ensuring every interaction reflects Convera’s values.
- Support the execution of engagement and well-being initiatives within the region.
- Contribute to projects aimed at standardization, automation, or simplification of HR processes.
- Proactively share knowledge and best practices to build functional capability and cohesion across regions.
- 5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, People Advisor, or HR Operations role within a global or matrixed organization, preferably with experience in an international role spanning multiple APAC countries.
- Strong knowledge of local labor and employment laws and ability to interpret and apply policies in context
- Proven ability to manage employee relations cases effectively and confidentially.
- Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills; capable of coaching and guiding people managers.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and high data accuracy.
- Experience using HRIS platforms and working across time zones in distributed teams.
- Experience contributing to HR process improvements or automation initiatives preferred.
- A trusted advisor who combines operational precision with empathy.
- Confident guiding managers through people matters with balanced judgment.
