ENGSO – the European Non-Governmental Sports Organisation – is the leading voice for voluntary-based grassroots sport in Europe. Representing 34 National Sports Confederations, National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, and other sport bodies across Europe, ENGSO advocates for the societal value of sport and its role in building stronger, more inclusive communities.
- Location: remote (based in Council of Europe country) or Brussels
- Contract Type: preferably self-employed, fixed 2 years, possibility to be extended
- Working time: 40-80%, 2-4 days/week

As Project Manager, you will lead ENGSO’s projects and coordinate partners to deliver impactful activities and results. You will oversee timelines and budgets, organise onsite and online events, and ensure all outcomes align with ENGSO’s values and Policy Programme, promoting grassroots sport as a driver of social development. You will also contribute actively to project communication and work closely with the Head of Programmes and Equality.
Job opportunity: ENGSO Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of project management in line with the approved description, budget, and timeline, ensuring that objectives, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
- When ENGSO is the coordinator, lead and motivate a consortium of partner organisations to achieve shared goals.
- Contribute to the creation, review, and refinement of project deliverables—such as educational materials, policy papers, guidelines, and reports—ensuring accuracy, coherence, and alignment with project objectives and stakeholder needs.
- Represent the projects through effective communication, marketing, and presentations at meetings, events, and conferences.
- Maintain regular communication with ENGSO and report to the supervisor on project progress and outcomes.
- Assist the Head of Programmes in implementing project and equality initiatives, including preparing project proposals, contributing to publications, and providing support during coordination meetings.
- University degree in sport management or sociology, international affairs, public policy or other related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project management.
- Track record of contributing to initiatives that promote equality, inclusion, and safeguarding.
- Proven organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; other European languages are an asset.
- Experience in sport and civil society is a requirement.
- Ability to work independently and in a multicultural, remote team environment.
