Tech Lead - Shape Our API First Strategy

Are you passionate about API design and architecture? Do you thrive on mentoring developers and shaping technical strategies? We're looking for an experienced Tech Lead to head up our Product as a Platform (PaaP) team, driving the development of our cutting-edge API platform.

Over the past few years, we’ve gone from having limited APIs to fully embracing a product model where APIs are integral to everything we build.

Now, we need a hands-on, passionate Tech Lead to lead a team that isn’t building APIs directly—but is building something even cooler: a platform that enables other teams to build amazing APIs for their modules with ease. Think of it as empowering an entire development community to create consistent, powerful, and scalable integrations.

In this role, you'll:

• Lead the creation of a cutting-edge API platform that allows other teams to quickly build and deploy their own APIs.
• Coach and mentor developers and product folks on the best API practices - helping them level up their API design and development skills.
• Define and own the API design principles, ensuring consistency, security, and scalability across the board.
• Play a huge part in our API First journey - this is your chance to drive real change!
• Take seat in a product trio where you represent tech, to ensure we're building things that make sense, technically and strategically.

• We're all about Java with Spring Boot on the backend.
• Our platform is built around Azure API Management Services, alongside a microservices architecture in AKS.
• We’re big fans of OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, and REST standards—if you know them well, you’ll fit right in!

• You’ve led technical teams before and love inspiring others to do their best work.
• You’re a hands-on coder who knows Java, Spring Boot, and can hit the ground running with API standards like OpenAPI and AsyncAPI.
• You’ve got experience with Azure API Management (or you're excited to dive into it).
• Most importantly, you’re passionate about building great APIs and helping others do the same!
