Amazon’s PXT HR (HR4HR) organization is seeking a dynamic HR Leader to provide strategic and hands-on organizational support for the Global Operations People Experience and Technology organization (GO PXT) team. We are seeking an experienced HR leader who will demonstrate a sharp understanding of the operations business, strategize how the PXT organization supports the growth and development of the business, and who is driven by developing top talent, driving innovative thinking about how to support the organizations and leaders in scaling with growth.
This role partners with the HR leaders who support the Field and Corporate Operations teams who directly impact our customers. Operations, including the Fulfillment and Delivery networks, are the heart of Amazon's business and cornerstone of the customer experience. Each action we take is driven by our customers, as meeting their expectations is our foundational core value. The Operations teams in our fulfillment and delivery networks are responsible for managing a vast range of fast-moving inventory, working very hard to ensure that our customers receive what they want, when they want it.
To be successful in this role, you will help senior PXT leaders look around corners with data-driven recommendations for innovative solutions as well as iterate on current mechanisms to improve performance, retention and the employee experience. You must have the ability to see patterns, diagnose issues, and recommend and develop both immediate and long-term solutions and mechanisms. This includes partnering with business leaders to shape the talent, workforce, and total rewards strategies as well as operational processes and systems needed to support unique business models and build an environment where employees can develop, contribute and thrive. This role will require you to roll up your sleeves and engage on a hands-on basis. High business acumen, manager coaching and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with Director level leadership to drive results and look around corners
- Function as a thought partner and coach to executive level leaders and their respective organizations; engage in the business strategic planning to translate business needs into a people agenda and effective organizational design
- Use strong analytical skills to tell the story around the operational metrics and supporting data and provide actionable insights to raise the bar on organizational performance and drive path-to-green plans as needed
- Lead annual PXT talent management cycles relating to Talent and Performance Management, Compensation Management, Succession Planning, and Leadership Development for the organization
- Communicate across global stakeholders at all levels and be able to know the business well enough (with the data to back it up)
- Develops Mechanisms to drive organizational health.
- Partner with central PXT teams, such as Talent Management, on systemic and scalable programs
- Travel will be required up to 30% of the time
This role isn't your typical HRBP role. The ideal candidate will need to balance diving into the weeds, with stepping out to provide strategic thought leadership and guidance. This will span from the traditional talent routines and mechanisms, inspecting escalation outcomes to ensure high judgement guided decisions and we are getting to the right result, and helping to build the pieces of the puzzle that are the vision for the future of Ops PXT. This role is one where you will need to be comfortable dealing with a lot of ambiguity, while building structured mechanisms and processes to drive towards successful and equitable outcomes. You will guide HR professionals on how to elevate the performance and talent of their own teams.
