Full-timeAnalyst, Engineering +1

At Oda, we develop affordable grocery services to make the logistics of living surprisingly easy. First we built Norway’s leading online grocery store and now, partnered with Mathem in Sweden, we’re on our way to becoming the world’s most effective retail system, delivering to thousands of Scandinavian doorsteps every week.

We’re looking for a Product Developer to join the Shop team in Oda!

As part of the Shop team, you’ll join the people who build everything customers see and interact with: apps, the web shop, marketing tools, notifications, payment, accounts and more. It’s a big responsibility, and it means we can design and build the entire customer journey end to end.

In this role, you’ll work primarily as a web-focused software engineer, taking end-to-end ownership of customer-facing shopping flows. You’ll work hands-on on core web flows and collaborate closely with designers, product managers, app engineers, and backend teams to build and improve the web shopping experience using modern frontend technology.

While your main focus will be the web, you’ll work closely with iOS and Android teams to help bring web and app behaviour closer together, ensuring that shopping feels familiar and coherent wherever customers choose to order.

The problem you’ll help solve: Imagine a parent on a busy Tuesday evening: a toddler on one arm, tomorrow’s dinner to order with the other. Search must work, the cart must feel trustworthy, and checkout must be calm.

Your job is to make that journey smoother month by month, by shipping, measuring, and iterating on improvements that make the experience more reliable and intuitive.

What you’ll be doing as a Product Developer

As a Product Developer, you’ll take ownership of core web flows such as browsing, search, product pages, cart, and checkout, and make them feel smooth, reliable, and familiar. You’ll ensure that web and apps work in predictable, coherent ways by reusing and evolving shared patterns.

You’ll work closely with designers, product managers, app engineers, and backend teams to turn ideas and problems into real solutions. You’ll dive into APIs and contracts, and make small backend changes yourself when that’s the quickest way to improve the product. From first concept to shipping, measurement, and iteration, you’ll help every feature deliver real value to customers.

You’ll …

  • Build and improve core web flows such as browsing, search, product pages, cart, and checkout.
  • Reuse and evolve shared patterns so the web and apps behave in predictable, familiar ways.
  • Collaborate with designers and product managers to turn problems and ideas into solutions.
  • Work with app and backend engineers on contracts and APIs, and make small backend changes yourself when that is the fastest path to a better product.
  • Take features from “we think this will help customers” through shipping, measurement, and iteration.

What you’ll need to succeed 🌟

We don’t expect you to know everything on day one. But we think you’ll enjoy this role if:

  • You’ve built user-facing web applications with a modern framework such as React with TypeScript or something similar.
  • You’re comfortable working with REST APIs and willing to touch backend code to adjust an endpoint, a payload, or a simple service when needed.
  • You care about details that matter for customers: loading states, error messages, keyboard navigation, and what happens if something fails at the worst possible moment.
  • You like working in a team where problems are shared rather than thrown over the fence. Designers, app engineers, backend engineers, and PMs all sit at the same table.
  • You’re curious, you ask questions until things make sense, and you prefer clear, maintainable solutions over clever ones.

To thrive in this role, we believe you like to take ownership of web flows, care about the details that matter to customers, and work closely with others to deliver smooth, reliable, and coherent experiences across web and app.

If you’re unsure whether you tick every box, that’s okay. We would still like to hear from you!
