This role is for you who want to work close to complex network incidents, critical customers, and advanced technologies — while still having flexibility, autonomy, and strong support from a Nordic specialist team.
This Job Ad Is For You Who Have
- Experience working as a network engineer, consultant, or in second/third line support
- Solid knowledge of network technologies such as Fortinet, Cisco, SD-WAN, routing, and security
- Certification or hands-on experience equivalent to CCNA level
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Fluent English and good skills in at least one Scandinavian language
As a Service Desk Specialist in GlobalConnect’s Advanced Solutions Service Desk, you work with escalated incidents related to complex customer network solutions. The team is the technical escalation point within operations and plays a key role in safeguarding reliable connectivity for businesses and critical societal actors across the Nordics.
You will be part of a pan-Nordic team of 14 specialists, working across Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. The team collaborates closely across borders and technologies, supporting all types of customers and solutions. The manager is based in Kristiansand, while the main Service Desk hub is in Stockholm.
“Our main job is to handle tickets escalated from the Service Desk, but we also train colleagues, join customer meetings, and help out across the organization when needed.”
— Service Desk Specialist
This is a second-line role close to third-line level, where you are trusted to take ownership, drive cases forward, and contribute with deep technical expertise. You work office-based during standard hours (08:00–17:00), with occasional overtime for planned changes.
We Are Hiring Two People
- One based in Stockholm
- One based in any GlobalConnect office, preferably Kristiansand but getting the right person is the most important thing.
- Handle escalated incidents from the Service Desk and take full ownership until resolution
- Troubleshoot complex network issues within Fortinet, SD-WAN, routing, and security
- Act as an escalation point towards third line, vendors, and implementation teams
- Proactively follow up on incidents and communicate with customers
- Participate in technical customer meetings and escalations when needed
- Train and support Service Desk colleagues and help raise the overall technical level
- Document solutions and contribute to continuous improvement
In a nutshell, we are looking for a self-driven network specialist who enjoys responsibility, variety, and technical depth.
You are structured, reliable, and comfortable working independently. You have a natural sense of urgency, can prioritize without being told, and take pride in solving complex problems. You enjoy learning new technologies, sharing knowledge, and becoming a go-to person within your area of expertise.
“If you want a challenge and are willing to learn, you’re perfect for this team. Personal development is something we focus on a lot — you gain new knowledge almost every day.”
— Service Desk Specialist
Why join GlobalConnect?
At GlobalConnect, you work with end-to-end connectivity solutions and a wide range of vendors and technologies. No two days are the same, and you are encouraged to grow — whether you want to become a Fortinet expert, dive deep into SD-WAN, or broaden your technical scope.
“The biggest challenge is also what makes the job interesting — no cases are the same, and some are really complex.”
— Service Desk Specialist
This is a role where many specialists choose to stay and develop long-term, rather than moving on to third line — because of the flexibility, trust, and continuous learning opportunities.
