Workyard is a growing startup operating in the construction industry where
$300 billion is spent annually on labor. We are developing an industry changing technology SaaS
solution to manage labor for construction companies. Through a unique approach into the market, we
are fundamentally changing the experience for both companies and workers by adding trust,
transparency, and technology to the labor management process.
With an ambitious product roadmap ahead, we are looking for a Product Designer to own end-to-end
product design. As a design-centric company, this is a highly valued, critical role and will report to our
Head of Product/Co-Founder.
This is a hybrid role: 2 days (Tuesdays & Thursdays) in our Sydney office (Surry Hills), 3 days remote.
Responsibilities
You will be constantly shipping high quality products with a feeling of ownership through the
entire process. You will drive a strong design process from the beginning to the end. From
distilling user needs, generating ideas, and collaborating with stakeholders to refine
requirements, you will bring concepts to life with wireframes and high fidelity prototypes. You
will work directly with product management and engineering to bring it all to life.
- Translate complex workflows into simple solutions. You will define personas and map
user workflows. You will build out new features while evolving the existing user
experience of our customers. This is an industry that needs information and workflows
distilled down into focused and intuitive design solutions that solve real problems and
deliver real results for real people.
- Influence on product strategy. You will work with cross functional partners to build out
user experiences, define goals and success metrics focused on high impact
opportunities. You’ll be a key voice behind bringing the strategy to life.
- Work with a dedicated customer base. Our customers are passionate about how we can
help them improve their processes. You’ll have direct conversations to understand goals
and needs of users across many types of businesses. You’ll learn and validate ideas
directly with users through interviews and feedback sessions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of UX Design experience in web software, ideally B2B Saas products or equivalent, and
across platforms (web and mobile)
- Excellent information visualisation skills with experience in generating graphic assets
- Experience in storyboarding user flows and prototyping product features.
- Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and typography, and accessibility
- Comfortable interacting with technical teams and product management.
- Experienced in conducting customer research and usability tests/sessions
- Proficient in handing off high fidelity designs to engineering team
- Working knowledge in the latest design toolsets
- Self-motivated and able to efficiently run with a project without close supervision
- Degree in interaction design, visual communication, graphic design or related field
