Accounting Analyst

The Accounting Analyst will support the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing key management reports, analysing operational and commercial data, and assisting with month-end and year-end processes. This role requires strong analytical ability, excellent attention to detail, and the confidence to work with both internal stakeholders and external clients.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Ledger Management

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Support month-end account reviews, including journal preparation, variance analysis, and supporting documentation.
  • Follow up with clients on overdue balances and assist with the reduction of aged debt.
  • Review and evaluate client subsidies to ensure financial accuracy and correct allocation.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare flash reports and other periodic financial summaries for management review.
  • Analyse weekly sales reports and stocktake data to identify variances, trends, and issues requiring investigation.
  • Support tender-related financial analysis by preparing cost models and assessing profitability.
  • Assist in creating the annual forecast and supporting financial planning activities.
  • Analyse weekly unit sales reports and identifying variances week on week.



Operational Finance Support

  • Provide training and support to managers on invoicing, financial processes, and system usage.
  • Authorise and review time records for designated sites within the Kronos workforce system.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and to resolve discrepancies.


Administrative & General Duties

  • Manage email correspondence and routine administrative tasks to support efficient finance operations.
  • Contribute to process improvements and standardisation within the finance function.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4+ years’ experience in an accounting, accounts assistant, or analyst role.
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles and month-end processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) and experience with financial/ERP systems.
  • Experience in accounts receivable or client account management is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Kronos or similar time/attendance systems is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
