Security Architect

We are scouting for an enterprise Security Architect for a long term and FREELANCE project in Brussels, BE. The position is looking to worked 2 days onsite per week (3 days WFH) in the centre of Brussels.

Contractual points:

Duration: 24 Months Initially (Extendable)

Location: Brussels, Belgium (2 days onsite / 3 days WFH)

Freelance / B2B contract

Full-time / 5 days per week

Languages: Dutch AND/OR French Fluent + English

About the Role:

As a Cybersecurity Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding our digital landscape. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust cybersecurity strategy, ensuring that our systems, services, and assets are resilient against cyber threats. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and implementing security-by-design solutions, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's cybersecurity strategy, policies, and procedures.
• Align cybersecurity goals with overall business objectives.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential vulnerabilities.

Architecture Design:

• Design and implement secure architectures for various systems and applications.
• Ensure adherence to security principles, standards, and frameworks.
• Develop and maintain security architecture documentation.

Security Controls:

• Define and implement security controls to protect sensitive information and critical systems.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of security controls.
• Stay updated on emerging threats and vulnerabilities.

Incident Response:

• Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans.

Team Collaboration:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the business.
• Mentor and guide team members on security best practices.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, standards, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
• Experience in designing and implementing security architectures.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption).
• Knowledge of cloud security and security automation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.
