Container Platform DevOps Engineer – Tier 1 Dutch Bank (Hybrid, Netherlands)

You’ll be part of a new squad building a next-generation container platform on AWS, enabling thousands of engineers across the organisation to deliver faster, safer and with full autonomy. What you’ll do

• Build, operate and improve a large-scale container platform running on AWS/EKS.
• Deliver platform upgrades, resolve incidents and implement roadmap features.
• Drive standardisation, automation and best practices across the engineering landscape.
• Enable self-service capabilities so DevOps teams can deploy and run workloads independently.
• Experiment with new technologies and push platform innovation.
• Work closely with engineering and security stakeholders in a highly complex, mission-critical environment.

What you’ll bring

• Strong hands-on experience with containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker, EKS/ECS).
• Solid AWS knowledge across networking, IAM, storage and serverless components.
• Proficiency with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows and modern DevOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD).
• Scripting skills in Python, Bash or similar.
• Clear communication, ownership, and a collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable working in Agile teams and contributing to a learning, experimentation-driven culture.
• AWS or Kubernetes certifications are a plus but not required.

Practicalities: 32–36 hours per week. Hybrid working. Team culture that values learning, constructive challenge and continuous improvement.
