About The Team

Our unit is responsible for several functions in the engine control unit, ranging from engine and combustion optimization, sustainable emission strategies and engine speed control. We are committed to Traton's ambitious goals of reducing environmental and climate impact. The Unit is responsible for developing functionality to all brand specific organisations including, Scania, MAN and International.

Role Summary

As a development engineer in our unit, you will be part of all steps in the developing process i.e. concept development, implementation and testing. You will also get the chance to work in both pre-development project as well as you will investigate and solve problems found on the current production software. Some of the tasks that you will be assigned to is:


  • Developing new software functionality in our engine management system.
  • Testing your functionality in different environments, for example in simulation environment, testbed and in truck.
  • Continuous discussions and cooperation with colleagues all around Traton including our brand specific organisations.


Apart from being developer you will also work as Scrum master for our unit. As Scrum master you will be responsible for:


  • Lead our weekly competence group meeting where we initiate work for all our new issues.
  • Together with product owners you will be responsible for setting the plans for our teams and keep track of our progress.
  • Improving our processes when it comes to planning, quality and delivery precision.


Your profile

We believe that you have a master of science or higher education in mechatronics, computer science, automotive or similar. We believe that;


  • You are analytical person that like problem solving,
  • You are a team player that enjoy working with other people in the group but also around the whole R&D,
  • You are adaptable and enjoy working with both ongoing customizations and also in large future projects.
  • You have leading skills and can represent the group in different forums.


Knowledge that are required:


  • Experience in C-programming.
  • Experience in engine development.
  • Knowledge in Matlab/Simulink.
  • Experience in working as a Scrum master.


We offer

Our team is responsible for a wide area of functionality, offering many possible focus areas. The team consists of ten engineers who continuously work together within the unit and together with other parts of Traton R&D.
