The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for a wide range of the daily functions for the Human Resources department by performing routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave of absence; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. In addition, the HR Generalist will ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. They will also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics.


The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations run smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.


This role is 100% on-site and directly reports to the HR Manager.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist in talent acquisition and full cycle of recruitment process from recruitment plans to new hire orientation.

• Benefits, Payroll and Compensation: Administer employee benefits programs, process payroll for hourly and salaried employees (bi-weekly), manage payroll inquiries, and assist with performance appraisals.

• Employee Relations and Grievances Redressal: Assist in addressing employee grievances, resolve conflicts, and facilitate disciplinary actions in compliance with company policies and labor laws.

• Policy Development & Compliance: Assist in creating, updating, and implementing HR policies and procedures, ensuring they comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

• Training & Development: Assist in developing and coordinating training programs and support employee career development.

• Employee Engagement: Assist in designing and implementing initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction and engagement within the organization.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized physical and digital employee files, including attendance, benefits, vacation, and performance data.

• Relationship Building: Building and maintaining relationships with Operations and third party recruitment agencies.


Required Skills

• Bachelors in Business Administration or relevant Diploma or Certification in Human Resource Management.

• Previous experience as an HR Generalist.

• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

• Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations.

• Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures.

• Working towards CHRP designation would be a plus.

• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks for processing payroll.

• Good knowledge of time and attendance systems (Work Force Management/Day Force/Synerion)


Assets

- Knowledge of Success Factor and Ceridian Dayforce would be a plus.

- Previous experience in the manufacturing industry


This is a 12+ month contract and hourly pay starting at $26 depending on relevant skills & experience.
