About the role

As a Technical Sales Support Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining Wärtsilä's proprietary civil discipline for WIMCE application which is used for installation material and installation costing estimates. In addition, your main tasks are to coordinate development work between other disciplines and external software engineers and update Wärtsilä Installation and Material Cost Estimation -application ready for software engineer.


Work tasks

This role focuses on developing and maintaining WIMCE application for civil cost estimation, supporting technical sales globally, and evaluating civil solutions for energy projects. It involves creating and updating parametric models, analyzing costs, and coordinating development with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient project estimations.


  • Develop, maintain, and be responsible for civil costing within the WIMCE application
  • Coordinate development work with other discipline owners and external software engineers
  • Evaluate civil solutions for EEQ and EPC projects, providing commercial and technical support
  • Determine local cost levels for installation countries to expand and maintain global cost databases
  • Develop parametrized design models for the software to enhance functionality
  • Analyze supplier offers for civil discipline and develop material costing in the software


We are looking for

  • B.Sc. Technical / M.Sc. Technical in Civil engineering
  • Good knowledge of cost estimation software (Admicon Estima, TAKU software and RATU library)
  • Good understanding of parametric modeling concepts
  • Extended skills of Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent English skills
  • Ability to learn new applications quickly
  • Good communication and teamwork skill


Other information:

  • Start: Preferably in January
  • Employment period: 6 months, with possibility to continue
  • Location: Finland, visits to Vaasa. More in the beginning, after that once every month or every two months
