To reach our goal we are looking for an Embedded Engineer to help us develop software (Rust/Python/C) on our charging stations and cloud infrastructure. At Qwello, you will be responsible for high quality, low bug design & implementation and understand that our stations are far away from home, on a slow network connection and potentially hard to physically get to. Therefore you design for resilience, remote introspection & telemetry first and keep an IOT frame of mind at all times. Security is important to you. You are an efficient engineer, focused on fast execution of your craft.

Your Responsibilities 🚀
Write software (Rust/Python/C) for our charging stations & cloud infrastructure
Design and implement cloud/IoT system architectures
Ensure our stations' high uptime by improving the monitoring and testing of our station’s software
Improving our CI deployment/testing pipeline
Debug HW/SW issues on our charging stations
Develop HW/SW solutions to automate testing of our hardware

Your Profile ✨
We mostly write Rust with a tad of Python - so you should enjoy Rust and either be good at it or wanting to learn and be familiar with Python
Solid experience with architecting & implementing on premise systems, as well as automating testing of them
Embedded experience and/or low level programming languages experience, e.g microcontrollers, C/C++, Rust
Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Terraform, Docker)
Experience with different network protocols (gRPC, MQTT, HTTP)
Bonus points for experience with build systems (Bazel/Yocto)
First hands on experience working with embedded hardware/software solutions
Ability to self-organise in an environment of changing priorities; willingness to work on multiple tasks/content switching
Fluency in English, German language knowledge is a plus
