A fast-growing, mission-driven technology company is expanding its Product and Engineering function as it enters a major phase of platform redevelopment and scale. The business delivers a digital-first service used by customers across Ireland and is investing heavily in modernising its web and mobile experiences.
This is an opportunity to join at a genuinely formative stage. The engineering team is rebuilding core systems and user interfaces, adopting a modern React and Next.js architecture aligned with an existing mobile application. You will play a key role in shaping both the technical foundations and the day-to-day product experience.
The role
You will join a small, highly collaborative engineering team with significant ownership across the full stack. The role spans front-end architecture, backend services and cloud infrastructure, with real influence over tooling, standards and technical direction.
What you will be doing
- Designing and building scalable, user-focused web applications using React and TypeScript
- Contributing across the full stack, including Node.js services and relational databases
- Playing an active role in front-end architecture and the migration to a modern Next.js setup
- Collaborating closely with product and design to deliver high-quality user experiences
- Influencing engineering standards, best practice and long-term technical decisions
- Writing clean, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on testing and quality
Core technical experience
- Strong commercial experience with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript
- Solid backend experience using Node.js and API-driven architectures
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments, ideally AWS
- Understanding of modern front-end build tools and frameworks, including Next.js
Desirable experience
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code or cloud automation tools
- Experience with state management libraries or component libraries
- Background in mentoring or supporting other engineers
- Experience working in early-stage or scaling product teams
What we value
- Pragmatic problem-solving and an ability to reason through technical trade-offs
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to challenge ideas constructively
- High standards for code quality, testing and maintainability
- Curiosity and a genuine interest in learning and improving continuously
- Comfort working with autonomy and taking ownership of outcomes
Why consider this role
- Meaningful impact through technology that supports real-world outcomes
- Significant influence over architecture, tooling and engineering practices
- Clear progression towards a lead or principal role as the team grows
- Flexible working, with remote or hybrid options in Ireland
- Inclusive, supportive culture that values diversity and different perspectives
