Job description:

The Role: As a Software Engineer at Kopa.ai, the candidate will not just write code— will act as a true Product Engineer, owning problems from concept to shipped feature. You will work directly with the founders and product teams to architect the next generation of agentic workflows, experimenting with the latest LLM capabilities to transform ambiguous ideas into production-ready solutions.

• Own the build end-to-end: Responsible for taking features from initial concept through design, architecture, implementation, and deployment.
• Architect scalable AI agents: Design and implement the infrastructure and logic that allow AI agents to autonomously handle complex e-commerce tasks, including pricing, logistics, and customer support.
• Push the boundaries of LLMs: Experiment with leading model providers, open-source models, and RAG pipelines to optimize speed, cost, and accuracy.
• Collaborate on product direction: Work closely with the Product Manager and founders to refine requirements, challenge assumptions, and propose technical solutions to business problems.
• Iterate rapidly: Ship solutions quickly, gather user feedback, and refine the product, balancing code quality with speed in a startup environment.
• Ensure reliability at scale: Transform prototypes into robust, user-focused solutions capable of handling real-world e-commerce volumes without failure.

Requirements:

• + 3 years of engineering experience, ideally in building and shipping real-world products in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Strong engineering fundamentals. Proficiency in TypeScript and Python is preferred, with the ability to learn and adapt to the best tool for the job.
• Product-focused mindset, with strong understanding of user needs and business outcomes beyond writing code.
• Bias toward action, comfortable making technical decisions quickly and working in ambiguous situations.
• Genuine interest in AI and exploration of Large Language Models and agentic frameworks.
• Excellent collaboration skills, able to communicate complex technical constraints clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have requirements:

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate), or AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Google ADK, or similar).
• Experience integrating with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce) or logistics APIs.
• Background in data engineering or machine learning.
• Previous experience as a founding engineer or early hire at a startup.
