Due to the development of John Deere Bank in Poznań, we are currently seeking candidates for the position of:
Legal Counsel
Poznań, Poland
Your Responsibilities
Legal part:
- Manage legal support related to John Deere Financial’s retail (customer) financing and wholesale (dealer) financing business in Poland.
- Manage certain regulatory and corporate law matters, including intercompany agreements, and serve as the main liaison with regulatory authorities in Poland
- Perform legal research and related advice, draft supply contracs and review legal documents to ensure compliance with laws;
- Manage litigations. outside counsel and notaries
- Offer counsel for ad hoc legal matters of John Deere Financial business in Poland and other John Deere Units in Europe.
- Creation and maintenance of new policies and procedures of the Compliance Department,
- Support the regulatory tracking activities,
- Assist with the risk analysis for the New Products Approval Process,
- Contribute to enhancement of the following areas: Internal and External Fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act / Anti-bribery / OECD.
- Master’s degree in Polish law
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a comparable in-house legal role or at a law firm, ideally with exposure to banking and finance
- Fluency in English (C1 level) and native Polish speaker
- Willingness to travel for business (approximately once per quarter)
- Proven experience in contract drafting and data privacy compliance
- Practical experience in Compliance and with anti-financial crime measures (AML, fraud detection, etc.)
- MS Office proficiency
- High level of organizational and time management skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and business acumen
- Willingness to grow and take on additional responsibilities
- Other languages (especially German, Spanish and Portuguese)
- Experience with data management (e.g. SQL or other data extraction tool).
