As a Frontend Developer for our Editorial Core team, you work at the heart of the company. Your product team is responsible for how we present our journalism digitally, how we excel in digital storytelling, personalize the experience and create smarter ways to consume news. You will build solutions for ten different publications who are market leaders within their sectors; shipping, seafood, energy, and business news. Across our titles we have more than 3,5 million visits every week, which means that a lot of people will benefit from what you work on every day!
In your new job, you will be responsible for building components to add to our internal library, continuously focusing on performance optimization and you will be working closely with our Analytics and Product Departments. If this sounds interesting, here are some more details:
Your strategic role:
- Play a key role in developing and maintaining our core frontend ecosystem.
- Be part of the team that works at the very core of what we deliver
- Develop, implement, and maintain reusable frontend components using Vue and TypeScript.
- Maintain and evolve our component libraries and NPM packages.
- Contribution to professional development
- Optimize performance and ensure high-quality, scalable frontend solutions.
- Writing and maintaining the necessary documentation
- Collaborate closely with backend developers, designers, and product management.
- Implement components across multiple projects.
- Expertise in HTML and CSS, with a solid focus on WCAG accessibility standards and SEO best practices.
- Competence in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience working with a modern frontend framework such as Vue, React, or Angular (experience with Vue is a strong advantage).
- Knowledge of Storybook or similar tools for component testing and documentation.
- Proven experience in creating and maintaining reusable component libraries
- Familiarity with building, publishing and maintaining NPM packages is a plus
- Good language skills in both Norwegian and English
