Product Designer

Role Description

This is a contract role for a Product Designer. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing innovative, user-centered products that align with business objectives and customer needs. The Product Designer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and marketing teams, to create intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, and functional designs for digital products, services, or hardware.

Key responsibilities include conducting user research, developing wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs, and iterating based on feedback from users and stakeholders. The Product Designer will also be responsible for ensuring the consistency of design across platforms, optimizing the user experience, and ensuring that design solutions meet both user needs and business goals. Additionally, the role will involve testing and validating designs with real users, gathering insights, and making data-driven design decisions.

The Product Designer must be passionate about design, innovation, and creating seamless user experiences while working in an agile, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Design Expertise: Strong proficiency in product design, with experience creating user-centric designs across various platforms (web, mobile, etc.).

UX/UI Design: Solid understanding of user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles, with the ability to translate complex problems into simple, intuitive designs.

Prototyping & Wireframing: Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar, with experience creating wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

User Research & Testing: Experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering user feedback to inform design decisions and iterations.

Collaboration Skills: Ability to work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet project requirements and are technically feasible.

Problem-Solving & Innovation: Strong problem-solving skills, with a creative and innovative approach to addressing design challenges and enhancing the user experience.

Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring pixel-perfect designs and consistent application of design systems across products.

Knowledge of Design Systems: Experience in working with or developing design systems and maintaining consistency across products and platforms.

Agile Methodology: Familiarity with agile workflows and the ability to iterate quickly in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain design concepts and decisions to non-design stakeholders.

• Relevant Academic Qualifications: A degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field is preferred. Additional certifications in UX/UI design or design thinking methodologies are a plus.
