Job Title: Senior Manager, Global Partnerships

Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Global Partnerships, will lead the day-to-day management of the global partnerships team and drive strategic growth across the Lakers Global partnership portfolio. This role combines people leadership, critical thinking skills, partnership activation strategy, event operations, and exceptional client service to deliver premium partner value and measurable business results. The Senior Manager will effectively balance partner objectives with Lakers priorities to ensure best-in-class execution while safeguarding Lakers interests, integrity, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate views current partner objectives, goals and needs as opportunities to drive success and expansion amongst our current partners with the goal of long-term retention.
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities**)
Partnership Leadership & Account Management
- Oversee day-to-day partnership account management operations across the Lakers global partner portfolio, leading select new projects and initiatives while providing leadership and advising ongoing programs to ensure operational excellence.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the Global Partnerships team, empowering them to make sound decisions and deliver the highest quality service and proactively identify expansion opportunities.
- Maintain a deep understanding of partnership elements across the global partnership portfolio to enable proactive planning and provide advance notice to relevant departments and stakeholders.
- Maintain clarity and alignment by overseeing the documentation and distribution of action items, follow-up materials, and meeting summaries across the team.
- Support the planning, organization, and execution of large-scale partnership events and activations such as a full team appearance, an international roadshow or a Local Lakers player appearance.
- Lead and manage all legal correspondence between Global Partnerships and the Los Angeles Lakers Legal Department related to partnership sweepstakes, promotional activities, events, vendor and consulting agreements, and any partnership programming requiring legal review and/or approval.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations and on-site execution aligned with partner objectives and Lakers expectations.
- Lead the development of bimonthly partnership performance reports, outlining successful activations and campaign recaps.
- Package proof of concept materials that demonstrate measuring value, performance, and association for Director of Global Partnerships to use as guided sales materials.
- Partner with Director of Global Partnerships as needed to help ideate and inform renewals, upsell strategies and new business.
- Ensure final partnership materials are properly archived and maintained, providing accurate and accessible documentation for cross-functional teams.
- Evaluate partnership activation workflows to uncover opportunities to improve efficiency, organization and cross-functional collaboration for current global partnership.
- Champion best practices to scale partnership operations, leveraging critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address challenges and optimize processes.
- Partner with the Business Analytics & Strategy team to develop and deploy in-market custom surveys that capture comprehensive marketing metrics for use in partnership recaps, renewals, and new business development, with results serving as proof of partnership success
- Analyze partnership exposure data and impressions to generate insights and strategic recommendations for partners and internal stakeholders.
- Lead the end-of-year valuation of the Jersey patch partnership, ensuring earned media and other non-contractual elements are tracked, measured, and reflected in comprehensive reporting to demonstrate full partnership value.
- Utilize third-party tools such as Nielsen and Zoomph Analytics to support media valuation and performance reporting
- Responsibilities subject to change based on organizational needs and direction from management.
Previous Experience
- A minimum of seven (7) years’ work experience in partnership management, or related role, with demonstrated experience managing high-value partnerships in multiple markets
- A minimum of two (2) years of people leadership experience, including the ability to guide, and develop team members while driving accountability and high-quality service delivery.
- Strong experience leading partnership activations, events, and experiential marketing programs, including large-scale or high-profile executions.
- Demonstrated ability to balance partner objectives with internal organizational priorities, exercising sound judgment and professionalism when navigating trade-offs.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, analytics, and arena operations.
- Experience in developing partner briefs, partnership reporting, campaign recaps, and performance summaries that support renewals, upsells, and new business efforts.
- Experience interpreting data, metrics, and insights to inform strategy and demonstrate partnership value.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage senior-level partners and internal stakeholders.
Location: El Segundo (offices M-F), downtown Los Angeles (Crypto.com Arena for select Laker’s home games) and other off-site client meetings
Travel: Up to 5% of the time for local market activations, international activations, pre-season games, etc.
The pay range for this role is $100,000-$125,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications. In addition to those factors, we consider the relative pay of our current employees in similar positions when making a final offer.
