AWS DevOps Engineer - SC CLEARED


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to lead the design, automation, and deployment of cutting-edge cloud solutions on AWS. What you'll bring:

  • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing DevOps pipelines and automation tools within AWS environments.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation technologies.
  • Deep understanding of deployment strategies, ensuring solutions are repeatable, scalable and resilient.
  • Ability to identify process optimisation opportunities and lead their implementation.
  • Proficiency in integrating security controls into solutions to mitigate threats.
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with experience working alongside software engineers and delivery teams.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies to drive efficient project delivery.
  • Supportive mentoring skills to guide junior colleagues and share best practices.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with additional cloud providers or hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash or PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of security standards and compliance frameworks relevant to government and public sector projects.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer.

Preferred education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud engineering or system automation roles, preferably within government or large enterprise environments.

Other requirements:

  • Willingness to attend occasional in-person meetings and quarterly planning sessions across London, Birmingham and Belfast.
  • You MUST have active SC security clearance for this role (We are unable to renew a lapsed clearance)
  • Willing to work on a 12-month contract, with flexibility for a short notice period if required.
