About Bright River

Bright River provides visual content services to leading e-commerce and retail companies worldwide. Our AI team develops ML-powered editing automation that combines cutting-edge computer vision with human expertise, processing tens of thousands of product images daily.

The Opportunity

Join our Computer Vision and Machine Learning team to help build production AI systems that augment our skilled visual experts. You'll contribute to real products that impact thousands of images processed daily for global brands—working alongside experienced engineers while developing your expertise in applied CV/ML.

What You'll Do

Model Development

  • Train and deploy computer vision models for image editing workflows (segmentation, object detection, quality enhancement)
  • Fine-tune foundation models (Stable Diffusion, SAM, CLIP) on proprietary datasets
  • Benchmark and evaluate model performance against quality and cost requirements

Production ML

  • Contribute to ML pipelines: data preprocessing, training, evaluation, and deployment
  • Work with containerized model deployments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Implement experiment tracking and assist with model monitoring

Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering to integrate models into editing workflows
  • Work with visual experts (designers, QA) to understand requirements and gather feedback
  • Participate in code reviews, model reviews, and team knowledge-sharing

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • 1-3 years professional experience in CV/ML roles
  • Solid understanding of CV fundamentals: CNNs, Vision Transformers, segmentation, object detection
  • Some production exposure: contributed to deploying at least one model beyond research/prototyping
  • Proficient in PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Strong Python engineering: clean, testable code
  • Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

Education

  • MSc in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal)

Who You Are

  • Results-oriented: you want to ship working solutions, not just run experiments
  • Clear communicator: can explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
  • Curious and self-directed: comfortable learning new techniques and asking questions
  • Pragmatic: balance staying current with research vs. delivering business value

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (40-hour workweek)
  • Flexible working hours
  • International exposure across teams in 5 cities, 4 countries
  • Diverse, inclusive environment
  • Innovation-driven culture: experiment, learn, iterate
  • Real customer impact: see your work processing images for global brands daily
