Job Description

  • Lead the implementation of data science prototypes and projects, supporting digital transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to scaling successful prototypes into broader implementation efforts
  • Support the development of automatic data collection and experiment protocoling tools to streamline data analysis processes.
  • Assist in automating data analysis in laboratories and production plants, improving efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to promoting a data-driven culture, data science and automation in laboratory and production environments.
  • Work closely with chemical engineers, chemists, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide analytical support. Visualize and communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Facilitate the integration of data science insights into process development and decision-making workflows.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science /Computer Science/(Chemical) Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Python programming language, including experience with Pandas, Git
  • Hands-on experience in data science projects, demonstrated through GitHub repositories, blog posts, deployed applications, or other relevant work
  • Knowledge of data storage and processing technologies, such as SQL databases and data lakes
  • Experience in project management and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships across organizational levels and functions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of chemical terminology and/or experience in the chemical industry is a plus
  • Excellent proficiency in English, German and/or French is highly advantageous
