Role Overview

We are building a fleet management and mission planning platform for autonomous vehicles. The system supports complex, real-time behaviour and user workflows where correctness matters from day one.

We are looking for a motivated, experienced QA Engineer who enjoys working in an environment where priorities shift, problems are not always fully defined, and quality is a shared responsibility across the company. This role sits close to engineering, product, design, and operations, with a strong focus on early feedback, collaboration, and making quality assurance as effective and efficient as possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineers, product, design, and operations to review requirements and designs early and identify risks before they turn into problems.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests across the application, focusing on real user behaviour and e2e workflows, take ownership of e2e test coverage for full user workflows from initial design to production, and identify critical user paths that are not adequately covered by lower-level tests.
• Build and maintain user-focused end-to-end test automation that reflects how the system is actually used, not just happy paths.
• Use exploratory testing to validate complex workflows, asynchronous behaviour, and edge cases, and decide pragmatically what should and should not be automated.
• Balance multiple priorities in a changing environment and adapt focus as needed to support overall product quality.
• Help shape how testing and quality are approached as the product and teams grow
• Integrate automated tests into CI pipelines and ensure feedback is fast, actionable, and reliable.
• Participate in planning, refinement, and release discussions and communicate quality risks and trade-offs clearly and respectfully.

Qualifications

• Experience testing web applications and backend APIs using modern testing approaches.
• Strong focus on automated testing, including user-focused end-to-end automation.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript and the ability to read and understand production code when writing tests.
• Experience validating backend APIs and collaborating with developers on test coverage and testability.
• Experience testing asynchronous or event-driven behaviour such as background processing, delayed updates, or integrations using webhooks, websockets, or streaming mechanisms.
• Strong exploratory testing skills and the ability to reason about complex user workflows.
• Good communication skills in English, with the ability to explain findings, concerns, and trade-offs to different audiences.
• Comfortable working in a structured agile or Scrum environment with cross-functional teams.
• A pragmatic mindset that values thoughtful testing decisions over rigid tooling choices.

Nice to have:

• Experience contributing to or shaping a broader test or quality strategy.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and approaches to keeping large test suites maintainable.
• Experience with performance testing, including running or analysing load and stress tests.
• Experience with security-related testing practices such as SAST, SCA, or dependency scanning.
