Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in software development, particularly in Android application development
- Proficiency in Java and Kotlin programming languages
- Experience working with notifications and background tasks within Android apps
- Knowledge of RESTful API integration and making network calls
- Familiarity with Android development tools for testing, debugging, and performance benchmarking
- Understanding of application design patterns, event-driven architecture, and database schemas
- Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and test-driven development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Develop high-quality, scalable Android applications following extreme programming (XP) practices and user-centric design principles
- Participate actively in all phases of the application lifecycle, collaborating with designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver features
- Leverage data, experimentation, and industry best practices to achieve desired business outcomes
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of product engineering standards and best practices
- Advocate for system reliability, reduce technical debt, and improve operational efficiency through proactive measures
- Support personal growth and mentor team members to foster a culture of continuous learning
- Adapt to evolving project requirements and industry trends, modeling flexibility and resilience for the team
- Evaluate user stories for technical feasibility, acceptance criteria, and testability, providing accurate estimations
- Collaborate with cross-platform teams, including iOS and server engineers, to ship integrated features
- Engage in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization of large-scale applications as needed
