  • Location: Bronx, Brooklyn, Nassau County (Candidate must be flexible to travel throughout NY metropolitan area)
  • Salary: $85,000–$100,000 + gas/tolls/maintenance reimbursement
  • Start Date: Immediately


About the Role

A growing electrical contractor is seeking a hands-on Assistant Project Manager who is ready to step into real Project Manager responsibilities. This role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years of electrical contracting experience who is strong with documentation, communication, and field coordination.

You’ll work closely with a seasoned Senior PM who will mentor you, but you will be expected to take ownership quickly. This is a lean, fast-moving environment where organized, accountable APMs can advance rapidly.


Responsibilities


Project Documentation & Coordination

  • Preparing and tracking submittals (logs, numbering, cut sheets, shop drawings)
  • Managing RFIs, change orders, and GC communication
  • Updating and maintaining project logs, schedules, and correspondence
  • Building and managing two-week lookahead schedules

Field Support & Inspections

  • Supporting FDNY fire alarm coordination
  • Preparing for and coordinating inspections
  • Periodic jobsite visits (approx. 1 week/month; more upfront)
  • Working with foremen and electricians to keep work progressing safely and on schedule

Drawing & Scope Review

  • Studying and interpreting electrical drawings and fixture schedules
  • Understanding installation sequences and project requirements


Experience Required

  • An APM with 2–4 years electrical contracting experience
  • Comfortable with submittals, logs, change orders, and GC communication
  • Experienced working in occupied residential buildings
  • Thick-skinned and composed when dealing with tough tenants or fast-paced job conditions
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and documentation-driven
  • Someone who learns quickly when “thrown into the deep end”
  • Looking for a stable, long-term role with clear growth to PM
