Local Peoples is seeking enthusiastic and talented AWS DevOps Engineer in the ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA to join our team as embedded members with our prestigious Government client. The centre of Data Excellence (CoDE) at our Governement client requires experienced DevOps Engineers with a strong background in management of data platforms built on AWS native technologies.The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in the following technologies:

Responsibilities:

  • Managing an AWS-native data platform using core AWS technologies such as DMS, S3, Glue, Athena, EventBridge, SageMaker, LakeFormation and OpenSearch
  • Working closely with Data Engineers to ensure that the platform is fit for purpose and enables functionality for data pipeline development, and for SQL and Python developers
  • Managing system administration of both Windows and Linux systems
  • Experience in aligning directory services in multi-cloud environments, IAM and EntraID
  • Experience in building and implementing CI/CD deployment pipelines
  • Ability to guide other team members, clients and develop fit-for-purpose solutions and support BAU operations
  • Working across multi-disciplinary Agile teams will require the successful candidate to apply a continuous delivery cycle approach, manage a BAU workload of technical support to both business and technical users and adapt quickly to the client agency’s environment.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated strong knowledge and experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and cloud infrastructure 40%
  • Demonstrated experience in working with business and technical stakeholders to build and maintain bespoke solutions using technologies native to AWS such as Sagemaker, Athena or Glue.30%
  • Demonstrated experience working in an agile project team, engaged in providing data capability and services to technical and business stakeholders. 30%

Desirable criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer science or similar discipline
  • AWS developer certification will be highly regarded
  • Experience with enterprise data warehousing and reporting platforms

Residency and Clearance

  • Must have Baseline Clearance or be able to obtain one
  • Australian Citizen
  • This role is open to ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA
