We are looking for a hands-on CTO / Head of Software to lead the development of our cybersecure Battery Management System (BMS) and Energy Management System (EMS) platforms, working closely with our BESS CTO.

This role is ideal for a senior software and systems leader who thrives in a startup environment, enjoys building scalable platforms, and wants to shape the digital intelligence behind next-generation energy storage solutions across Europe.

What You’ll Do

• Own the software and controls roadmap for BMS and EMS platforms.
• Lead architecture, development, and deployment of embedded and cloud-based systems.
• Build and lead software, controls, and data teams.
• Ensure reliability, cybersecurity, and scalability of BESS software platforms.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, power electronics, and grid integration teams.
• Support European projects while ensuring alignment with international standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Master’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
• Demonstrable experience in software-driven energy, industrial, or IoT systems.
• Strong background in BMS, EMS, SCADA, or real-time control systems.
• Experience with embedded systems, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, AI and data-driven optimisation.
• Proven experience leading technical teams in international or multi-country environments.
• Excellent presentation skills.

Languages

• Fluent English (required)
• Finnish and Swedish skills are considered an advantage
