We are looking for Android ambassadors
The team behind Telia play are passionate experts in Streaming & TV and we are shaping the future of entertainment! Telia play is used by millions of users in the Nordics and we strive to engage our users by easier Discovering of our great content, with the mix of movies, series & program and linear channel and last but not least we give our users a wonderful sports experience.
What you’ll do:
Play a key role in enhancing and maintaining Telia Play on different android devices, primarily Android TV. You’ll design, develop, and optimize Android applications focusing on performance, scalability, and great user experiences. We drive for automation and smooth releases and always put our customer experioence high! You will be working within a cross-functional team, and collaborate with designers and backend developers to implement modern architectural patterns and coding standards. We write our plattform in Kotlin and have a modern tech stack with frameworks and tools like Jetpack Compose, design system, Firebase and GraphQL. You will help us shape the future of our platform. This role is perfect for someone passionate about delivering exceptional user experience for our customers.

What will help you thrive in this role:
We’re seeking someone with significant expertise in building scalable, high-quality applications for Android TV platforms.
- You have strong proficiency in Kotlin and Compose, with a proven ability to design and implement advanced architectural patterns as well as performance optimization techniques.
- We would like you to drive automation and continue design a smooth release process, ensuring high-quality delivery as part of engineering best practices.
- Previous experience of building highly used customers apps using GraphQL and adaptive streaming protocols like DASH and HLS is a plus.
- Proficiency in managing Git workflows, ensuring code quality, and maintaining high test coverage is critical.
- We stand for a strong problem-solving and collaborative mindset.
- A bonus, if you have experience of TV-specific hardware features such as remote controls, voice interaction, and Android accessibility tools like TalkBack.
