We’re partnering with a large technology driven organisation that sits at the intersection of technology, data and large-scale consumer platforms. The team’s mission is to create better experiences - for customers and internal teams alike - by embedding advanced analytics and machine learning into real-world decision-making.


This role is part of a high-performing analytics engineering function that brings together strong software engineering and world-class data science. The focus is firmly on productionising, scaling and operating ML solutions, using modern cloud-native tooling and agile ways of working to solve complex, high-impact problems.


Location: Sydney

Hybrid | 3 days in office/week

Salary: $160k Base + Super + Bonus


What You’ll Do:


  • Design, develop, deploy and maintain advanced analytics and machine learning solutions in a cloud-native environment
  • Build and operate end-to-end ML pipelines, including data pipelines, feature engineering, model deployment and API endpoints
  • Take primary ownership for productionising ML solutions developed in partnership with data scientists
  • Develop scalable, reliable batch and streaming solutions to support a wide range of business use cases
  • Build ML-backed services and APIs using Python (including frameworks such as FastAPI)
  • Collaborate closely with ML engineers, data engineers and data scientists in multidisciplinary, agile teams
  • Contribute to architecture and solution design, clearly communicating trade-offs and recommendations
  • Apply appropriate testing frameworks and engineering standards to ensure robustness, performance and reliability
  • Continuously improve engineering practices, tooling and ways of working to improve time-to-market and system quality


What You’ll Bring:


  • Strong experience working on production ML systems
  • A problem-solving mindset with the ability to break down ambiguous, complex challenges into practical solutions
  • Solid commercial software engineering experience, with advanced Python skills and strong foundations in system design
  • Hands-on experience building and operating ML pipelines (e.g. managed ML platforms or custom orchestration solutions)
  • Experience designing and integrating RESTful or gRPC APIs
  • Proven background building reliable, high-throughput batch and/or streaming systems
  • Experience working with cloud platforms and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with real-time or NoSQL data stores
  • Exposure to containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
