Role Purpose

Own the end-to-end digital experience across Thawani Pay’s consumer and merchant products. This includes the Thawani Pay app, Mojab card and Mojab Go, international transfers, Sama offers, Athar, microfinancing, as well as Tajer App, Merchant Portal, Payment Gateway, and Payment Link experiences. The role ensures high-quality, intuitive, and conversion-focused UX that supports growth and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

Experience Ownership & Design Strategy

· Own UX/UI for all key user journeys: registration, KYC, wallet/card setup, bill payments, transfers, remittances, insurance, Sama, Athar, Tawani Store purchases, Mojab Go groups, etc.

· Own UX/UI for all merchant journeys: onboarding, branch management, payment requests (QR, Payment Link), reconciliation, reporting via Tajer App and Merchant Portal.

· Define and maintain Thawani’s design system (components, patterns, typography, colours, iconography) to ensure consistency across platforms.

Data-Informed UX Optimisation

· Prioritise UX improvements based on:

o Product analytics (Mixpanel / similar)

o Session analysis (Hotjar / Clarity)

o Customer care feedback and NPS/CSAT signals.

· Work with Product Analytics & UX Insights Manager to convert behavioural insights into prioritised UX changes and experiments.

Research & Testing

· Establish a continuous UX research process: usability tests, user interviews, surveys, prototype testing, and competitor benchmarking (regional and global FinTechs).

· Translate research into clear problem statements, user journeys, wireframes, and high-fidelity designs.

Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration

· Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, CRM, and Marketing to ensure designs are feasible, timely, and aligned with business outcomes.

· Provide detailed design specs and assets, support development teams through implementation, and participate in UAT focused on UX.


Qualifications & Experience

· 8–12+ years in UX/UI design, including several years in a leadership capacity.

· Experience in FinTech, payments, digital banking, or similarly complex app ecosystems is highly preferred.

· Strong portfolio that demonstrates mobile and web design in high-usage products, with evidence of improved conversion, retention, or NPS.

· Proficiency with Figma / Sketch / Adobe XD and familiarity with analytics and session recording tools.

· Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting to C-level and influencing roadmap decisions.
