Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack WordPress Developer to join our team in Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining custom WordPress websites, ensuring they are functional, user-friendly, and optimized for performance. You’ll work across the full development stack, from front-end design to back-end functionality, collaborating with designers, project managers, and clients to bring projects to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and websites from scratch.
• Implement responsive front-end designs using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Manage back-end development tasks, including database configuration, server-side logic, and API integrations.
• Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure all code is clean, well-documented, and adheres to best practices.
• Optionally, leverage experience with WordPress Headless CMS to build decoupled architectures and integrate with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong focus on WordPress.
• Proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Expertise in WordPress theme and plugin development, including custom post types and taxonomies.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Solid understanding of web performance optimization and security best practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Located in Australia with eligibility to work locally.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with WordPress Headless CMS and REST API or GraphQL integrations.
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Next.js, or Vue.js or similar).
• Familiarity with hosting environments like AWS, WP Engine, or Kinsta.
• Understanding of UX/UI principles and accessibility standards.
• Previous work on e-commerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce).
