E1, (formerly known as EstimateOne) is a SaaS tender management platform connecting commercial builders with subcontractors and suppliers. Proudly named one of AFR's Best Places to Work in 2025, we're the market leader in Australia and New Zealand, and are now expanding our platform to the UK.
Our scaleup vibe keeps things lively. We've come a long way in 15 years, and seeing what we've achieved in that time, gets us pretty excited for the next 15. We're passionate about setting clear, fair expectations and delivering results, with a genuine commitment to wellness and happiness that you'll truly experience.
We've been recognised twice on the AFR Best Place to Work list, so we care a lot about making sure we're a place people want to work.
About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Product Designer with a deep specialisation in Growth. This Senior Product Designer will be embedded in our cross-functional Product-Led Growth (PLG) team, while an integral member of the Design team.
We value "T-shaped" designers: while this role requires a deeper competency in growth (taking a hypothesis-driven approach to optimising funnels, designing experiments, and driving user activation), you are a generalist at heart. You can own the entire design lifecycle, from strategy and research to high-fidelity UI and interaction design.
Our ideal Senior Product Designer thrives in fast-paced, lean environments (like startups or small, agile teams) and is adept at using data and behavioural insights to transform friction into flow. You're comfortable leaning on lo-fi explorations to move quickly, translating complex user journeys into simple, delightful, and high-converting experiences. You'll be a crucial partner to Product Management and Engineering, effectively communicating how design decisions drive both user value and business growth to senior leaders across the organisation.
As a Senior Product Designer you will:
- Own the end-to-end UX/UI design, prototyping, and testing for our SaaS application, ensuring all solutions are consistent, accessible, and responsive across devices
- Independently scope complex problems within the user journey, performing continuous discovery, and mapping user journeys and growth loops
- Articulate and guide design thinking and decisions to cross-functional peers and senior leaders, leveraging data and research to secure alignment, particularly when navigating complex internal or technical dependencies
- Focus on user research, synthesising insights, and defining clear design opportunities
- Actively contribute to the ongoing development and governance of our design system and component libraries, ensuring a high-quality, consistent user experience across the product ecosystem
You will be collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Data peers on high-velocity initiatives foundational to E1's growth.
Rather than developing entirely new value propositions, your work will involve deep-diving into existing experiences to identify high-impact improvements. While all our teams work iteratively, the PLG team's focus is on a high cadence of discovery and the validation of hundreds of ideas to activate and reactivate our Subcontractor users.
Success here requires a bias for action - using low-fidelity design exploration and minimal test-able experiments to quickly test and learn. We will be forever tweaking and optimising our experiences to funnel as many people to key actions as possible through continuous discovery with new and existing users.
About You
- You have experience in SaaS organisations working in cross-functional teams
- You know which UX tools and processes to deploy against a given problem
- You can proactively contribute to elevating design maturity across the organisation
- You're keen to collaborate with other designers within the design team to continually improve design consistency and quality across E1 products
- You're able to contribute to the ongoing design and development of our design system
- You have the ability to deep dive into user problems to produce compelling solutions
- You combine product design craft with a systems mindset, understanding how each touchpoint fits into the wider service
