DevOps Software Engineer (Contract)
Initial 6 month Contract with high chance of long term extension
Cork based (Will require 2 days per week on site)


We are seeking a skilled Devops Software Engineer to join our client on a contract basis. This role involves working on complex software development projects, testing, and supporting deployment processes in both Linux and Windows environments, with a focus on automation and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Installation: Install and configure application software in test environments.
  • Monitoring and Deployment: Monitor applications and automate deployment processes.
  • Issue Investigation: Collaborate with developers and testers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Technical Reporting: Provide consistent updates and reporting to team members.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation, improve processes, and develop testing tools.

Required Skills:

  • Linux Expertise: Strong experience in Linux environments.
  • Database Skills: Proficiency in Oracle SQL and/or MySQL, along with shell scripting.
  • Cloud Technology: Hands-on experience with GCP and Terraform.
  • Windows Knowledge: Familiarity with Windows administration, PowerShell, and monitoring services.
  • DevOps Tools: Experience with tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Jira, and Ansible.

  • Educational Background: Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Problem-Solver: Skilled at troubleshooting and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Innovative Thinker: Capable of identifying and implementing process improvements.
