About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Privacy Associate within the Data &Analytics Team at Davy Group. This role is ideal for a motivated and adaptable self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can deliver work to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be a strong team player who can also take ownership of individual tasks and contribute to the organisation's data governance and privacy objectives.
Role
This position plays a key role in supporting GDPR compliance and promoting data governance best practices across the organisation. In the role, the successful candidate will:
- Manage and respond to queries related to personal data processing and handle Data Subject Rights requests within legal timeframes.
- Coordinate and maintain the organisation's Record of Processing Activities (RoPA), including regular reviews, in collaboration with stakeholders such as Privacy Champions, Legal, and Third-Party Management, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate and support business units in completing Privacy Assessments (PAs), ensuring they are carried out effectively, risks are identified and monitored, and outcomes are documented in collaboration with stakeholders such as Privacy Champions, Legal, and Third-Party Management.
- Utilise privacy workflow tools to manage compliance activities effectively.
- Assist with the implementation of data privacy policies, supporting procedures, and activities to ensure compliance with the GDPR and best practices.
- Comply with the Risk and Compliance frameworks, policies and procedures associated with the role.
- Collaborate with all areas of the organisation to implement practical GDPR solutions and drive data governance best practices.
- Develop strong working relationships interdepartmentally to ensure cross functional collaboration across the organisation.
- Participate in projects and deliver ad hoc tasks as required.
We are looking for somebody who has the following background and skills:
- Experience & Background
- 2+ years financial services or legal industry experience.
- Basic understanding of the GDPR and data privacy principles.
- Technical Skills
- A high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with privacy tools, such as Microsoft Purview and OneTrust is a distinct advantage but not essential.
- Core Competencies
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Communication & Collaboration
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex information clearly and professionally.
- Proactive and collaborative approach, with confidence to build relationships and engage stakeholders across the organisation.
