About The Internship
You will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of secure and resilient backend applications. You will work on innovative projects related to our global investment platform and collaborate with experienced engineers using modern technologies and Agile methodologies.
6-month internship beginning in January 2026. Please note that only students who can provide a valid internship agreement (school convention) will be considered.
What You’ll Do
- Design/implement resilient applications with/without the help of an architect
- Develop/maintain backend applications following ING standards
- Write clean, tested code and perform unit testing, integration testing & performance testing
- Collaborate with Ops engineers to manage the full software lifecycle
- Embed security best practices into every stage of development & keep your assets compliant from a security point of view
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Analyse defects to validate solution design quality
- Review technical and functional specifications
- Perform code/security reviews
- Communicate and escalate issues when necessary
- Basic knowledge of Java and ideally Spring Boot.
- Interest in DevOps, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong experience with microservices architecture and API management
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, DBMS and SQL (Oracle, PL/SQL) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge in testing tools (e.g. JUnit, Selenium, JMeter,…) and TDD/BDD
- Basic Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Good command of English (French is a plus).
