Backend Developer (Java)
We’re looking for a Backend Developer with strong Java experience to join a team building and maintaining platforms that support internal editorial and content workflows used daily across the organization.
You’ll work on scalable backend services, data pipelines, PostgreSQL-based systems, and GraphQL APIs, collaborating closely with both backend and frontend (TypeScript) teams. The role offers end-to-end ownership — from development to production — with fast feedback loops from real internal users.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain backend services in Java
- Work with PostgreSQL, data pipelines, and GraphQL interfaces
- Contribute to backend infrastructure and system improvements
- Collaborate closely with frontend developers (TypeScript)
- Build scalable, reliable systems used at high volume
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in Java and backend architecture
- Solid experience with relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
- Comfortable working across systems and teams
- Knowledge of GraphQL and TypeScript is a big plus
- Experience with publishing platforms, CMS, or internal user-facing systems is a bonus
- Strong communication skills, collaborative mindset, and technical ownership
